Saturday 12 September – Mindfulness with Drawing
Sunday 13 September – Drawing with Mindfulness
Venue: La Source, Le Clou, Trans, 53160, Mayenne, France
These two one-day workshops are designed to flow one into the other and it is recommended that both are taken. However it is also possible to do one, or the other, on its own. Priority of booking will be given to those taking both workshops.
About the Essence of the Horse Workshop
Spending time in embodied presence with horses at liberty can bring a deep connection with the healing energy of the herd and their generous and wise spirit. The mindful awareness which the horses inspire connect you to your own inner wisdom and resources. Moments of stillness experienced in the heart of nature’s finest teachers represent a wholly natural mindfulness practice – inviting you to fully inhabit your body, immerse yourself in the moment, rejuvenating, informing, relaxing, transforming.
From this place of presence, expressing your sense of this intimate connection which you have with the herd through drawing them gives you a creative, non-verbal opportunity to process your experience and express its essence. Learning how to do so, simply and gracefully, will give you an ability both to conjure the qualities of the moment whenever you put pen to paper, and to absorb yourself in the essence of the horse when you need it.
Pam Billinge, horse-led therapy and learning specialist and author of bestselling ‘The Spell of the Horse’ will lead Day 1 where the emphasis is on mindfulness, with a short bridging session at the end of the day into the creative element of Day 2 led by Diana Hand, equestrian artist, horse-lover, and author of ‘How to Draw Horses in 15 minutes’. Diana will give instruction and coaching on simple horse-drawing techniques which you will then use to sketch the herd in their natural environment.
Whether you are new to mindfulness and drawing or are an experienced practitioner this weekend offers the opportunity to relax in beautiful surroundings, enjoy the conviviality of the shared experience and deepen your practice.
The price for each day is 80 Euros per day or 150 Euros for both days taken together. The price includes lunch, refreshments and basic drawing media, although if you have your own favourite sketch pad and materials do by all means bring them. Please bring a blanket, towel or mat to sit on outdoors.
Limited residential accommodation is available on site first come first served in either a single or double room with shared bathroom. The price does not include evening meals or breakfast, but these can be arranged for you if required. Please enquire.
Bookings can be confirmed only on payment in full for the workshop, similarly for the accommodation. To book please contact Pam on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Full joining details will be sent nearer the time.
