Periodically I arrange training programmes for practitioners of equine assisted learning, current and aspirational, and mentoring is available on request for those who are building up their practise.
Introduction to Embodied Horse-Led Learning: This 3-day programme is suitable for therapists, psychotherapists and coaches who wish to integrate horses into their work. No prior experience of horses is required, although confidence around them is important, and prior professional accreditation as a therapist, counsellor, psychotherapist or coach is required. To receive details please sign up to our newsletter and consult the Events page.
Mentoring: Mentoring and coaching support might suit you if you already have the building blocks of your equine assisted learning practise in place, or need help setting them up. Questions like:
- How do I get started without my own facilities?
- What sort of continuous professional development should I do?
- Do I need to know the horses?
- How do I win business?
Sessions can be face-to-face or via Skype. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
Supervision: I take on a small number of supervisees for non-clinical supervision of their practise. Equine assisted learning work is particularly intensive, with many complicated dynamics to hold as a practitioner. Particularly when you are starting off on your journey, receiving supervision will help to
- Support your own well-being
- Help you make sense of the horses’ behaviour in response to the client.
- Understand the dynamics of the work you are carrying.
- Ensure emotional safety of clients and horses is maintained.
- Build your confidence in trying new approaches.
Supervision can be face-to-face or via Skype. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
“This was a thoroughly enjoyable workshop, both profound and touching in experiencing and watching the work being done with the horses. The focus on the contact with the body felt very central to the experience and I was thrilled to be able to take away the experience of the right brain/right brain connection made between my horse and myself”
